Travel Tuesday rules
Every week, the 5 most postcard-worthy travel photos each win a free postcard. You write the note by hand, and pen2post prints it and mails it for you. No purchase necessary. Last updated 12 October 2026.
Who runs it
Travel Tuesday is run by pen2post (pen2post.com). It is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Meta. By entering, you release Instagram and Meta from any responsibility for the contest.
Who can enter
- Anyone 18 or older, anywhere in the world. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
- People who work on pen2post, and their households, can't enter.
- You don't need to buy anything to enter or win. Buying something doesn't improve your chances.
When
- Each round opens when we announce it on Instagram, usually on a Wednesday, and closes the following Tuesday at 12:00 noon US Central Time.
- Round 1 opens Wednesday 14 October 2026 and closes Tuesday 20 October 2026 at noon Central Time.
- A new round runs every week until we say on Instagram that Travel Tuesday has ended. A round may have a theme, which we announce when it opens.
How to enter
Enter one travel photo per round in any one of these ways:
- Post it to your Instagram feed, tag @pen2postmark and add #Pen2PostTravelTuesday. Your account must be public for us to see it.
- DM it to @pen2postmark on Instagram.
- Add it as a photo comment on that round's Travel Tuesday post, if your Instagram app offers photo comments.
Tell us where the photo was taken. A story only counts if you also DM us the photo, because stories disappear after a day. The photo must be your own, taken by you, and must not show anything unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit.
How winners are chosen
This is a judged contest, not a random draw. After each round closes, the pen2post team scores every eligible entry:
- Postcard-worthiness (50%): would it look great on the front of a postcard? A clear subject, strong composition, good light.
- Sense of place (30%): does it feel like a specific place?
- The story (20%): where it was taken, and who you'd write to.
Our decisions are final.
Prizes
- 5 winners each round. Round 1 has 10 winners.
- Each winner gets one single-use code for 100% off one pen2post postcard, worth from $3.99 with printing and postage included. You write your note by hand, upload a pic at pen2post.com, and pen2post mails the card to almost anywhere in the world.
- The code works for 7 days after the winners are announced, then expires. It has no cash value and can't be swapped or passed on.
Telling the winners
- We announce winners on @pen2postmark on the Tuesday evening after the round closes, or Wednesday morning at the latest.
- We message each winner's code by Instagram DM, only from @pen2postmark. We never ask for payment details or passwords. Ignore any other account claiming to be us.
Your photo
You keep the copyright in your photo. By entering, you let pen2post share it, credited to your Instagram handle, on Instagram and pen2post.com to show Travel Tuesday entries and winners. We'll ask before using it anywhere else.
Your information
We only use your Instagram handle and messages to run Travel Tuesday. See our privacy page.
Changes
We may change or end Travel Tuesday at any time. A round that is already open keeps the rules it opened with.
